ZAMBOANGA CITY – A joint anti-smuggling operation early Monday led to the arrest of four individuals and the seizure of PHP2.2 million worth of smuggled sugar at a shipyard in Barangay Cawit. Authorities confiscated 900 sacks of sugar weighing 50 kilograms each and found additional illicit goods nearby. The Bureau of Customs and local police are investigating the owner of the contraband while completing an inventory of the seized items and trucks involved.
